The first water tower in Leaf River was located at the City Park by the RR tracks just north of First St. Built of wood it was said that the Village sold water to the RR for their engines. |
Next view of the first tower is looking to the east from the west |
The first tower was replaced in 1915 when the steel water tower was built on the higher ground south of the Village. |
This is LR water tower number 2 built in 1915 to replace the old 1882 wooden water tower, most everyone would remember this tower seeing it everyday going to school. And this tower housed the Fire Department Fire Siren which has already been removed to the Fire Station. |
Leaf River's newest water tower number 3 newly painted 11-2004 we all know that water towers are for pressure, not holding tanks, without the tower you would have no pressure at your facets. |
Each time a tower was built in LR they were gradually moved to higher ground, tower # 3 or 2004 tower is located just south of tower # 2 located at the school. Tower # 2 or the 1915 tower will be torn down and removed sometime soon. |
Coming Soon early photos of the 2004 tower ! |

The old 1915 tower # 2 lays in the old school yard awaiting removal. |
